EASA Class 2 aero medical examination

A Class 2 medical certificate (EASA Class 2) is required when the pilot wants to apply for a license as a private pilot PPL(A), glider pilot outside Europe (SPL) or balloon pilot (BPL).

Meet safe medical standards

If there are no special circumstances (medical indications), the aero-medical examiner can issue the medical certificate immediately after approval. If you do not fully meet the set requirements, the doctor (possibly in consultation with the ILT) will assess whether you can perform your activities, after receiving information about your condition, check-ups with your specialist and use of permitted medication. The examining physician can then issue you the medical certificate with a restriction. You need a medical certificate to fly a recreational aircraft or a commercial balloon independently.

How is an EASA class 2 examination conducted?

Upon arrival at the reception, we will identify you by ID or passport, your Medical Certificate and License will be scanned, if in your possession. You will then digitally complete the request form regarding your medical history. Additional examinations such as an ECG or audiogram will then be performed on you. The examining physician will physically examine you. If you have or have had a condition, please bring documentation from your specialist or family doctor. Our Aero Medical Examiner will discuss with your Licensing Authority whether your condition is sufficiently stable to ensure flight safety. If you need an interim assessment during the term of your Medical, due to impaired fitness, (see the back of your Medical), you should make an appointment with us. We charge an hourly rate of €125, - ex VAT. If there are no special circumstances (medical indications), the medical examiner can issue the medical certificate immediately after approval.
