If you work in aviation, it is important that you have an FAA class 1 or 3 certificate. Without either, you are not authorized to fly an aircraft independently. You can obtain an FAA class 1 or 3 certificate at Sky Medical Center at Eindhoven Airport. Apply directly for your examination

What is the difference between an FAA class 1 and 3?

The application for an FAA class 1 or 3 certificate (FAA Form 8500-8) is done entirely online. All information entered on this application form is visible to the Aeromedical Examiner. This information is reviewed prior to and during the inspection. There are three different classes of FAA medical certificate that you can obtain from us:

  • FAA class 1: for airline pilots and pilots whose employers require this level of certification
  • FAA class 2: for pilots flying in for commercial purposes
  • FAA class 3: for student pilots, recreational pilots and private pilots flying for pleasure or personal business

An FAA class 1 and 2 certificate are valid for 12 months. An FAA class 3 certificate is valid for 60 months for pilots under 40 years of age. From the age of 40, the FAA class 3 certificate is valid for 24 months. For both an initial medical examination, and a re-examination, you can contact Sky Medical Center.

Medical examinations according to EASA medical requirements.

The flight medical examinations we offer are performed in accordance with the medical requirements according to the European Aviation Safety Agency. They are all performed by a certified Aeromedical Examiner. This examiner uses these regulations to determine whether your health guarantees flight safety.
