Period of validity of Class 1 medical certificate
Class 1 medical certificates are basically valid for 12 months, unless you have medical issues, which gives you a limitation called 'TML' (time limitation) on your certificate, requiring you to submit medical data e.g. after 6 months or earlier.
The validity period becomes 6 months if:
- you operate single-pilot commercial flights with passengers and you have reached the age of 40;
- you have reached the age of 60.
Medical certificate renewal
You can renew up to 45 days before the expiration date of the medical certificate, maintaining the expiration date.
