EASA LAPL aero medical examination

The EASA LAPL medical examination is required for pilots of light aircraft (MLA) with a maximum weight of 2000 kg and up to three passengers and wanting to fly VFR. Glider pilots (LAPL-S/SFCL-SPL), non-commercial balloon pilots (BPL) are also required to have a valid medical certificate.

✔ Do you have a medical condition? Our medical examiner will assess, possibly in consultation with the ILT, whether you can be certified with a disability.

How does the LAPL inspection proceed?

1. Identification and Registration
  Upon arrival, we will check your proof of identity (ID or passport). If you already have a medical certificate and license, these will be scanned.
2. Medical history
  You digitally complete a health statement with relevant medical information.
3. Physical examination
  A licensed Aero Medical Examiner (AME) conducts a comprehensive medical examination. The examination takes an average of ± 1 hour.
4. Assessment and certification
  - If your results are normal, your medical certificate will be issued immediately.
  - If there are medical details, additional consultation with the ILT may be required before the certificate is issued.
The additional costs for the examination are € 125,- per hour (excl. VAT), in case the doctor has extra work to do after your examination. You do not have to be sober for the examination.
